Where does the data come from? Each jurisdiction’s own ordinances and permit pages. Every figure in the app links to the page it came from, with the date we last checked it.
How often is it checked? We re-check all 28 official pages every week. Most are read directly. A few jurisdictions block automated access — Palm Springs refuses our requests outright, and Big Bear Lake’s page is unreachable from where our checks run — so those are read from Internet Archive snapshots or by hand, which means a change there can reach you later than one on a page we read directly.
When something changes, subscribers get an alert describing what changed and when it takes effect. Every rule in the app carries the date we last confirmed it, so you can always see how fresh a particular figure is rather than trusting a blanket promise.
Why does something say the amount or deadline is not confirmed? Because the jurisdiction has not published it, or has published conflicting versions. We show that state rather than inventing a plausible number. A wrong deadline is worse than no deadline.
What happens if I do not subscribe? The app keeps working with the data included in the version you installed. You stop receiving updates, alerts and reminders.
How do I cancel? Subscriptions are managed by Apple: iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling there stops the next renewal.
I think something in the app is wrong. Email us with the market and the rule. If our data disagrees with the jurisdiction’s own page, the jurisdiction is right and we will correct it.
