Tree Risk Report is a record-keeping tool for qualified practitioners. It helps you record observations you have made in the field, organize them into risk scenarios, and produce a PDF report.
The app does not assess trees. Every judgement in a report — how likely a part is to fail, what it could strike, and how serious that would be — is entered by you. The app arranges those judgements and applies the rating structure described below. It does not inspect, diagnose, or decide anything on its own, and it is not a substitute for the training, qualification, or judgement of the person carrying out the assessment.
You are responsible for the content of every report you produce and send, and for holding whatever qualifications your work requires.
The app applies a two-stage rating structure that is in common use in tree risk work: likelihood of failure combined with likelihood of impact, then combined with the severity of the consequences, producing a rating of Low, Moderate, High, or Extreme.
This implementation has not yet been reviewed by an independent qualified practitioner. Until it has been, every report the app produces carries the notice "PRELIMINARY — pending professional review" on each page, and that notice cannot be turned off, including by subscribers. Treat the derived rating categories as provisional. Your own observations and conclusions, which the report also records in full, stand on their own.
The descriptive wording, layout, tables, and figures in this app were written for this app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or certified by any professional body or standards organization, and no such relationship is claimed. Names of professional qualifications, where they appear, are used only to describe who the app is intended for.
The first three reports you issue are free in total — not three per month. After that, issuing further reports requires a subscription. Reports you have already issued remain on your device and can still be opened, shared, and backed up whether or not you subscribe.

Backup files are encrypted with a passphrase you choose. That passphrase is not stored anywhere and cannot be recovered. If you lose it, the backup cannot be restored, by you or by us. Keeping working backups, and keeping the passphrase somewhere safe, is your responsibility.
We cannot recover data lost through device loss, device failure, deletion of the app, or a forgotten backup passphrase.
Do not use the app to produce reports you are not qualified or authorized to produce, and do not present its output as the work or endorsement of any organization.
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind to the extent permitted by law. Trees are living structures and can fail under conditions that exceed what they can withstand; no assessment, and no tool used to record one, can prevent that.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from the use of the app, including loss of data, loss of business, or any claim arising from a report produced with it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
These terms may be updated. The current version is always on this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
